Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting data center equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and networking equipment in the data center

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and system patching

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner

- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation of all data center equipment

- Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and replacements

- Document all maintenance activities and keep accurate records of equipment inventory

- Assist with cable management and ensure proper labeling of cables

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Experience:

- 2-3 years of fiber optic experience (install, maintain, and repair telecommunications networks for high-speed internet, television, and telephone services).

- Previous experience working with hand tools in a technical environment

- Knowledge of electrical systems and familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

- Experience with Avaya or other telecommunication systems is preferred

- Familiarity with VoIP technology and troubleshooting techniques

- Understanding of cabling standards and best practices

- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and troubleshooting methodologies

- Previous experience in field service or customer support roles is a plus
