Director of Sales- Ecommerce
Position Summary
Provide strategic direction and cross-functional collaboration to enhance brand positioning, increase sales and deliver-on corporate objectives within the Ecommerce channel. Management of account activity for Amazon.com 1P and 3P businesses and other assigned accounts. Partner with team to plan and implement effective channel and account strategies designed to drive profitable sales by gaining new distribution and strengthening existing distribution. Manage third party partners and ensure account direction, proposals and activities are in alignment with annual strategic plans and company goals.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Develop sales strategies and long-term growth plans, and lead execution for Amazon 1P and 3P businesses. Apply understanding of corporate objectives, brand and marketing strategies, industry dynamics and internal capabilities to annual planning and ongoing account management.
Partner with various sales divisions to promote a cohesive and complementary brand presence across the Ecommerce channel, including third party sellers. Help ensure online promotional plans, pricing and assortments are complementary to in-store activities and overall corporate goals.
Prepare comprehensive monthly/quarterly sales reports showing sales performance, sales potential, ROI of promotions and competitive activity along with annual strategic business reviews and high-level updates to leadership throughout the year.
Partner with team on annual account planning, refinement of go-to-market channel strategy, and provision of product feedback and market intelligence.
Work with Customer Service, Finance and Distribution to help promote efficiencies and cost-savings on account logistics, compliance, purchase orders and payment issues as needed.
Collaborate with Account Specialists to maintain accurate account information, planning tools and promotional documentation including BTS Audits and Trade Promotional Calendar.
Recommend staffing requirements and processes needed to support team.
Develop and maintain top-level relationships with customers and merchant teams. Review, negotiate and optimize customer program agreements and contracts. Work with team to determine sales opportunities, monitor KPI's and design programs to promote sales.
Communicate direction, expectations and updates to third party partners toward managing day to day activities, optimizing advertising campaigns, gaining share of search, enhancing content and implementing overall sales strategy. Monitor and manage performance and allocate resources for support.
Oversee the planning and active management of Amazon product catalog, including product pipeline for new and exclusive items, launch support, merchandising campaigns, variation strategy, brand store refreshes, content optimization and promotional activities to support Pilot's brand presence and continuous growth.
Direct advertising strategy and paid search campaigns designed to increase awareness, consideration and conversion rates, while bringing in new users to the brand.
Establish annual sales forecasts and make ongoing adjustments to market conditions, while working toward achievement of profitability goals.
Recommend budget, expenditures and appropriations for account-related promotions and programs. Analyze, control and approve expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Work with team on regular monitoring of POS trends, measurement of promotional performance, line optimization and industry analyses for assigned accounts.
Identify, explore and pursue potential new Ecommerce business for Pilot.
Work with team to develop and deliver meaningful presentations at customer meetings. Represent company at tradeshows, industry meetings and customer events.
Qualifications
education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus seven years related experience in a consumer products environment with a proven track record of success in managing Amazon sales and digital marketing campaigns.
Skills Required
Demonstrates skills in negotiation, joint business planning and closing critical sales contracts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently. Possess a proactive, positive, collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. Demonstrates a strong ability to multi-task and apply creative problem-solving skills toward managing day to day business and achieving targets.
