Sr Manager - Accounting

Darigold is seeking a motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team in Boise, Idaho. This role provides leadership to the accounting team and will oversee 3-5 direct reports, some with remote locations. The primary function of the role is to supervise and improve upon the day-to-day activities of the financial accounting department, building a best-in-class financial reporting organization. This includes ensuring the accuracy, validity and timeliness of journal entries and account reconciliations for the company while supporting cross-functional goals. This position will also be responsible for pro-actively supporting system implementations and upgrades with an eye towards future company growth. This position must be able to work extended hours when required and will require some travel.
What You Will Do
Create, review, and analyze journal entries and account reconciliation.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close; continuously improve this process leveraging people, process, and systems.
Lead team through training, guidance and developing internal talent.
Prepare monthly board slides with commentary on financial activity.
Work across departments to identify reporting needs and improvements, including variance analysis and financial metrics.
Coordinate the external audit process, including managing interim and year end field work.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
Drive the creation and modernization of the annual financial statements.
Perform technical accounting research to ensure proper accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP
Analyze current department processes and procedures to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
What You Bring
4-year College degree in accounting or related field required
6-9 years in an accounting position with a track record of advancement required.
Supervisory experience required.
Master’s degree, CPA or equivalent preferred
Public Accounting Audit experience preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing industry preferred.
Experience with derivative accounting preferred

High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to self-manage and prioritize within deadlines and time pressures.
Results and goal-oriented mindset with an opportunistic eye towards process improvements
Strong Excel skills including v-lookups, SmartView and pivot tables.
Experience with a large ERP system such as Oracle, SAP, or Great Plains (preferably Oracle 11i and Fusion)
Strong coaching skills with ability to raise the bar for the team.
Desire to build better and expand your knowledge and skillsets.

Compensation range: $97,202.00-$171,532.00 (individual wage based on previous experience, knowledge, and skills)
