Objective
The main objective of the Feed Truck Driver is to operate a commercial motor vehicle to deliver feed from our feed mill plant to local farms while exercising safe driving practices to ensure the safety of the general public. The driver is responsible for loading and unloading the truck according to the established standard operating procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Operate company-owned feed truck to deliver feed from feed mill to local farms
Perform pre-trip and post-trip Inspections of equipment before and after loading
Unloading the feed/truck load at the correct destination and correct bins/warehouse
Complete and maintain required paper work accurately and in a timely manner
Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to the supervisor
Complete written feed delivery reports
Comply with DOT regulations
Perform all duties in a safe and timely manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Report to Feed Plant Manager
Skills Required
Must have the ability to operate vehicle on country rural roads
Must have the ability to read maps
Comprehension of Federal, State, and local regulations as it pertains to driving commercial vehicles
Physical Demands
Ability to sit and remain alert while driving safely for extended periods of time
Properly and safely enter and exit the vehicle cabs multiple times per day.
Ability to climb ladder and be able to crank levers.
Perform occasional squatting, kneeling, bending, and climbing throughout the work day
Perform above the shoulder movements when cranking the lever to unload feed
Job Qualifications
Class A CDL
Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
Must be able to speak, read and write English
Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material
Must meet all DOT requirements and comply with DOT rules and regulations
