Audubon, an EPC company in Houston, has an immediate need for a Sr. Civil Engineer - LNG . In this role you will plan and conduct independent work or review vendors/contractors work in the Civil/Drainage/Road/Storm Water System Design for LNG project, requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Civil Engineering focus, containment and drainage methodologies, calculations and design.
Responsibilities
Job shall comprise of Civil/Site design of an assigned scope of work for an LNG onshore project.
Work involves independent design or directing technical work of vendors/contractors, applying standard design details per PIP, OSHA and or client safety standards, applicable codes and industry standards which form the basis of design.
Will assist or review the cost estimates and quantity take-offs for on-going projects, proposals, forecasts, and change-orders.
Shall provide technical guidance to contractors/vendors.
Job Knowledge
Experience in review and checking of civil site development design deliverables (concepts, drawings, calculations and quantities) for site layout, site drainage, rough grading, finish grading, rigid and flexible pavements, storm water and sanitary systems, fencing, underground utilities services and soil retention and stabilization structures, for LNG projects.
Must have general understanding of cut - and - fill, roadway design, and open channel drainage and culvert design, SWPPP, temporary drainage design.
Understanding of the application of relevant PIP design guides. Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
Knowledge of current computer applications for engineering and design including appropriate knowledge of 2-D and 3-D CAD, and relevant Standard Application Programs to perform the work. These include Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, CivilStorm, Intergraph Smart3D or equivalent applications currently in use in the industry.
Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the Civil Engineering discipline such as those developed by AASHTO, ACI, ASTM, Asphalt Institute, PCA etc.
Should have experience in managing and responding to the RFIs from owner's construction team, vendors, EPC contractors.
Skill in oral and written communication.
