Electrical Controls Engineer
The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing control panels, writing the PLC programs, providing field support, and start-up conveyor systems. The position will be office-based with >25% travel.
Job Description:
Review project-specific documents (customer specifications, proposal documents, contract documents, and amendments) to understand the electrical engineering requirements for each project.
Design electrical control panels using AutoCAD/EPLAN. Create BOMs identifying all parts required for manufacturing, and installation of electrical components.
Write Allen Bradley PLC programs and HMI programs for electrical designs.
Provide field support for projects.
Participate in site visits to customer facilities as required, to inspect existing equipment, systems, and building conditions, and to verify the accuracy of engineering/installation drawings against actual building dimensions/features.
Assist in developing schedules for completion of project-specific engineering tasks and deliverables in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.
Assist in controlling project costs for items that fall under the Electrical Engineering and Installation Department’s scope.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Start-up conveyor systems as required.
Perform Service Calls on occasion
Approximately 25% of travel is required
