Position Summary
Coordinate primary marketing research initiatives and syndicated studies as assigned with internal and external resources to provide customer and market analysis that will assist marketing, product development, and other internal stakeholders with their decision-making. Work with stakeholders to understand their business objectives, design appropriate marketing research studies, validate analytics, synthesize findings, present and discuss the marketing research results.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and work with them to define scope and objectives of research projects. Identify and propose potential marketing research initiatives that would inform their business questions through exposure to customer, market, and competitive trends. Assist in developing short range market research plans to help in achieving stakeholder project goals.
Work with external consultants to design the methodology, sampling, survey instrument, analysis plan design, reporting and presentation. Ensure the project meets pre-determined research objectives, within client timing and research constraints. Successfully partner with external vendors to ensure effective project outcomes and ensure the research provides actionable results that inform decision-making.
Implement special projects on behalf of the Marketing Research Organization to ensure that the department remains efficient and utilizes best practices throughout the project management process and to expand the impact of marketing research throughout Xcel Energy.
Remains up-to-date on the offerings that external vendors provide, and new methodologies being utilized to answer marketing research questions.
Remains up-to-date on company, industry and business issues/trends.
Minimum Requirements - Customer Insight Analyst
Required Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
2 years experience in marketing research including both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Approximately 10% travel preferred.
Preferred 1-2 years of experience in the utilities/energy industry.
Minimum Requirements - Senior Customer Insight Analyst
Required Bachelor's degree in a related field 5+ years of experience in marketing research including both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Experience in one of the following areas: brand and product advertising evaluations, DSM program evaluations, customer loyalty,
Voice of the Customer/Customer Experience; Custom/adhoc marketing research topics to inform business decision-making; syndicated research.
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Approximately 10% travel required.
Preferred MBA 3+ years of experience in the utilities/energy industry

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $69,700.00 to $99,100.00 per year
