Builds client lists and increases sales (wholesale and event) of baked goods and other menu items to corporate, social and other group and individual clients using sales techniques.
Essential Functions
Build and increase outside sales (wholesale and events) of baked goods and other menu items to corporate, social and other group and individual clients using sales techniques including but not limited to prospecting and cold calls, suggestive selling, developing relationships and maintaining pipeline of business opportunities, providing initial response and follow-up to inquiries, and performing offsite tastings
Present the product offering and proposals and coordinate the sales process including negotiation, closing, fulfillment and follow-up of the sale to ensure customer satisfaction
Coordinate with restaurant management to order samples for tastings
Travel to restaurant and client sites as needed including but not limited to tastings, assisting with fulfillment of orders, setting up product presentations and promotions, and better understanding clients’ needs
Create and maintain a Company proprietary client list
Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites as needed
Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools, utensils, equipment and software (for example, restaurant management software, etc.)
Effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
Multitask calmly and effectively under pressure
Work in a confined, crowded space of variable light, noise and temperature levels
Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
Stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Model and promote teamwork across all teams
Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate guests’ needs
Use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond with patience and courtesy
Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
Proficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment
Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
Ability to get along well with others and be a team player
Other duties will be assigned as needed
