The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting new accounts as well as entertaining and sustaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. He/she must have a strong knowledge of sales and understand the importance of prospecting in creating new sales opportunities for the hotel.
Responsibilities:
Develop accounts (new and existing); maintain an organized and professional plan for correspondence and follow-up.
Perform solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers.
Responds in a timely manner to all leads, RFPs, phone calls, and emails.
Procures new and repeat business.
Conduct tours of the property to meeting planners and other potential clients; entertain customers on property, during site inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate.
Coordinate all sales-related activity through the direction of the (Associate) Director of Sales & Events: negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.
Conduct all sales-related interactions with the highest level of professionalism.
Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales department, including assisting in answering phone calls and attending to walk-in site inspections.
Participate in sales blitz and telephone blitz activity.
Meets with groups on the property to ensure guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:

Effective direct verbal communication with clients
Produce precisely written meeting proposals, correspondence, and contractual agreements
Proactive client assistance and internal communication with colleagues
Ability to accurately and effectively execute responsibilities within a fast-paced environment consistently
Maintain a high level of responsibility and attention to detail with an ability to adapt to a changing environment
Preferably 2-4 years experience in a Sales Manager role within hospitality or similar experience/degree

Qualifications
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
Refined verbal and written communication skills
A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training
Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training
