Billing Specialist Responsibilities: Generate and process customer invoices in accordance with company policies and client agreements
Review and verify billing data for accuracy, including rates, quantities and any discounts or promotions
Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding invoices
Work with clients to resolve billing discrepancies or disputes and negotiate payment plans when necessary
Maintain accurate and organized billing records, ensuring that documentation is complete and readily accessible for auditing purposes
Respond to client inquiries related to billing and invoicing in a professional and customer-focused manner
Provide exceptional customer service while addressing billing concerns and questions
Collaborate with the sales, customer service and accounts receivable teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes
Prepare and deliver regular reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding balances to the finance department
Ensure compliance with all relevant billing and financial regulations and standards
Billing Specialist Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in finance or related field is a plus
Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or in a similar role
Proficiency in billing software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory standards
