A law firm is seeking a Technology Specialist for their Washington, DC, office. The Technology Specialist will play a crucial role in providing technical and scientific expertise to support the firm's patent-related activities. Here are the job details:
Job Overview: The Technology Specialist at our law firm will be responsible for conducting patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement analyses. They will work closely with post-grant and patent litigation teams, offering technical insights and drafting post-grant documents and patent applications for our innovative clients. This role requires a strong educational background and excellent writing skills.
Duties:
Perform patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and/or non-infringement analyses, including claim chart construction as applicable.
Draft post-grant documents (e.g., petitions, replies) outlining technical arguments.
Advise post-grant and patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific areas of expertise.
Draft and prosecute patent applications for innovative clients.
Requirements:
An advanced degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field.
0-3 years of post-grant and/or patent prosecution experience preferred.
Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
Certifications:
Admission to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office is preferred.
Skills:
Strong technical and scientific knowledge in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
Analytical and research skills for patent analysis.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative legal team.
