Payroll Manager

CHD is looking for an experienced, reliable, and team-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll department. The Payroll Manager will oversee all payroll-related tasks in the organization and will implement, maintain, and review the payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Performs administrative and other accounting projects as needed.
Responsibilities will include :
Leading and managing the payroll team
Ensuring all salaries, deductions, and other payroll elements are correct and complete
Overseeing each biweekly payroll run
Reporting regularly to management on payroll, benefits, leave, and tax matters
Analyzing the payroll function for possible improvements and streamlining workflows
Managing payroll information updates from regulatory agencies
Answering employee inquiries and rectifying payroll issues
Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
Provides guidance, training and support to program staff on payroll policies and procedures, promoting individual and collective problem solving
Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
Performs account reconciliations
Year-end audit involvement alongside the Controller
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business related field required
At least three years of experience processing payroll for medium to large organization
Expert knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS
Commitment to detail and quality
Proven ability to function well under pressure
Expert time management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent leadership ability
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Salary
$75,000 - $80,000
