Job Description Job Description The Accounting Senior, Revenue & AR is responsible for performing day-to-day, month end, and year end accounting close activities for the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the entries related to the order to cash process including revenue, reserve accruals, system adjustments and write-offs, cash postings, Company specific other income/expense streams, etc.
Interprets and validates system reports and other source documentation in order to support journal entry postings
Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations and reviews to ensure the accuracy of financial records
Ensures the application of proper accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); discusses treatment of transactions with the Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and Corporate Controller on GAAP considerations, where applicable
Assists the FP&A team in preparing annual budget items
Supports the Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller in completion of external audits of the Company
Reviews/prepares ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed
Other duties as required
Experience, Skills and Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
· Five (5) or more years of general accounting and/or financial reporting and analysis experience, required
· Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, required
· Experience with a Public Accounting Firm as experienced Senior or Senior level, preferred
· Experience with a multi-location company, preferred
· CPA preferred
· Advanced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required
· Experience using Next Generation ERP (NextGen), preferred
· Experience using GreatPlains ERP (GP), preferred
