Position Summary
Major responsibilities include teaching didactic material and facilitating integrative clinical experiences through case-based, individual, and group learning experiences. Opportunities include teaching in areas of expertise with particular needs in pediatrics, mental health, and community practice; however, those with expertise in other areas will also be considered. In conjunction with the school’s mission, scholarly activity and service are also required. Salary and rank will commensurate with education and experience.
Additional Position Information
Required qualifications:
An initially certified occupational therapist who is eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana and who holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy or a related field awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE -recognized institutional accrediting agency.
A minimum of 3 years’ practice experience as an occupational therapist.
Documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibilities.
Preferred qualifications:
A well-qualified candidate will have a range of clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas: experience in pediatric settings (outpatient, inpatient, school-based), program development, or community-based practice. Experience in mental health is a plus.
Prior experience teaching at an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate ( OTD ) program.
Experience as a fieldwork educator.
Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
A doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE -recognized institutional accrediting agency, i.e. post-professional OTD , Ph.D., or Ed.D. The doctoral degree is not limited to a doctorate in occupational therapy.

The Department of Occupational Therapy at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans invites applications for a 12-month, instructor/assistant/associate professor position in our Master of Occupational Therapy program.
