Position Summary
The LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans, Department of Medicine, Section of Community & Population Medicine and the Center for Healthcare Value and Equity, seek an enthusiastic faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) for a faculty position to be appointed as the next Associate Medical Officer for the Louisiana Department of Health.
The selected physician would ideally have a graduate level degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or Health Management. Some clinical duties would still be expected for up to 8 hours per week. Additional duties related to the AMO include:
Interpreting existing clinical policies that define Louisiana Medicaid Services
Assisting in the analysis, development and implementation of new clinical policies & criteria
Providing consultation to Medicaid program staff on service issues
Making recommendations to the LDH CMO regarding access to care
Other duties may be required of the AMO and travel to Baton Rouge is expected on a regular basis. Additional Position Information
